Week 4--Letter G

Another Week of Organized Chaos!! :)

Enjoying new friends...new toys...new adventures

They got so good at their letter "G's"...For the capital G I told them they need to start at the top (2 o clock) and go around around around...ERT (That's when they turn in!) :)  A "little g" is a circle, line, and a monkey tale...breaking it up for them like this seems to really help!! :)
We also practiced circles...and had lots of "reading" time!

PROJECT TIME...

Mastering our cutting..They are all getting better at holding the scissors correctly--and ALWAYS keeping their thumb on top! :)

Lily and Eliza's "phone conversation" was cracking me up!! Be careful what you say parents--the kids love to repeat EVERYTHING!! :)
The goal of these manipulatives is to put them together without making any holes :)
Devouring all of their yummy snacks...GRANOLA, GRAPES, Gogurt, GOLDFISH, GRAPE JUICE, etc.

More cutting practice...

I posted a lot of the "hands" so you can once again see the difference of how I "teach" vs. other teachers who come up with the most amazingly cute crafts that are PERFECT! :)...and how your child can create his/her own experience.  I wanted them to cut out their own hand...but decided that would make me freak out because I know a handful of them would have chopped off all their fingers, etc....so I cut it out for them.  After we explored different textures with our "touch sense" I gave them their hand and paper and said glue your hand on your paper and then glue on the rainbow rice wherever you want.  "Decorate" your hand if you want....

I think it's amazing to see how different they all were...some girls made jewelry on their hands and "painted their fingernails"...some only used one color...some mixed all the colors right away...others kept them separated but used them all....THIS is what I LOVE to see--I hope you do too...and you can see the method to my madness! :)

Some put it on their hands...some only around...some covered their whole paper...the differences go on and on.  It truly was their creation!

Another GREAT week!! Next week more Body, senses, and such...and the letter "D"
